I finally made it I've practically reached the end of my journey with this game. I can’t judge it objectively, but I honestly believe that the final battle in Walkman Fighters is the biggest and best thing I’ve ever created. I really encourage everyone to check it out and share your thoughts! Maybe I’m not cut out to be a writer, since the story doesn’t make much sense 😅, but it seriously made me a bit emotional realizing this adventure is coming to an end. The whole game has 16,500 lines of code, out of which 5,300 are rhythm maps lines, and I’ll try to create a cool ending after the boss fight, maybe some artwork and a few story-related details to wrap it all up. ⚠️ One important thing: The final boss battle is available to everyone right away, no need to beat previous bosses until June 29. After that, I’ll update the game so you’ll need to beat all previous bosses to access it. I’ve added the last three bosses to the game, updated or changed several graphics (for example, in endless mode), and overall I could say the game is finished. However, I feel like it needs a big finalea true “blast” ending so I’m planning an epic encounter with “The Creator,” the game’s final boss. I’ll be working on it soon, and I guarantee the story will get a cool conclusion! If everything goes as I imagine, every boss you’ve defeated to reach the final showdown will show up to help you in the battle against The Creator. I won’t spoil any more details, but stay tuned for the final update! :)

A big update just dropped! I have to admit, it took me longer than I expected at the very end I ran into an issue and had to completely redo the mechanic responsible for playing and stopping the music xD Endless mode has been added: the rule is simple—survive the tempo as long as you can. I’d really appreciate if you could test it, since I might not be objective (I created all the patterns that are generated in this mode myself). On both phone and PC I managed to last 15 minutes without any problem, so I feel like the mode might actually be a bit too easy. Feel free to share your results in the comments let me know how long you lasted and what your max combo was! 🙂 I’ve also added two more bosses. I know I promised all of them, but trust me it’s possible to get sick of music when you have to listen to it 50 times in a row, especially when you’re generating 200+ songs and trying to pick the right one by listening to each one. That would definitely impact making the next rhythm map so give me some more time

I'm excited to share my entry for the UpitMusicContest Rhythm games aren’t really my thing, so I’ve been creating all the rhythm maps manually by ear, apologies in advance if the timing doesn’t feel 100% on point. If you’re playing on mobile, quick heads-up: after launching the game, wait about 5 seconds before pressing “Start.” If you tap too fast, the music might not stop when it should (no clue why doesn’t happen on PC during testing). The idea behind the game is to be somewhat challenging. The 3 maps currently available are more like warm-ups — they’re meant to prepare you for what’s coming next.
