Walkman Fighters
Hey! I'm excited to share my entry for the UpitMusicContest Rhythm games aren’t really my thing, so I’ve been creating all the rhythm maps manually by ear, apologies in advance if the timing doesn’t feel 100% on point. If you’re playing on mobile, quick heads-up: after launching the game, wait about 5 seconds before pressing “Start.” If you tap too fast, the music might not stop when it should (no clue why doesn’t happen on PC during testing). The idea behind the game is to be somewhat challenging. The 3 maps currently available are more like warm-ups — they’re meant to prepare you for what’s coming next. Endless mode has been added: the rule is simple—survive the tempo as long as you can. I’d really appreciate if you could test it, since I might not be objective (I created all the patterns that are generated in this mode myself). On both phone and PC I managed to last 15 minutes without any problem, so I feel like the mode might actually be a bit too easy. Feel free to share your results in the comments let me know how long you lasted and what your max combo was! Let me know what you think! :)

This too isn’t really my genre at all, haha, but it’s good way to get experience anyway ;) A big update with a new mode should be out within the hour I hope you’ll have time to check it out, even if it’s just for the check visuals! :D
This is so good. The presentation is immaculate and inspiring to see what is actually achievable when all the right elements come together. Well done!
Hey Silas, nice work so far! Music is great, rhythm elements are solid. Intro story is obviously awesome. I also like the tutorial. I also have to admit, your song timing is better than mine, but there’s no way I’m listening to my music 100 times over. I’ll make up for it by adding more rhythm elements! Haha. Keep it up!
Thanks for your feedback! ;) Honestly, I’d love to make the gameplay faster, but while listening to the music I need to remember that people will be tapping this on their phones, or mouse I can’t t add a tap or swipe on every single bass hit or beat. Like I said in the description, the upcoming tracks will get harder I added those shield and HP potion buffs for a reason xD But I also can't go overboard, or the gameplay feel will suffer ;X
Right on. Oh, I was going to add: my biggest criticism so far was pressing the “fight” button to make selections on the menu felt very unintuitive and it took me a sec to figure it out.
I’ve already fixed it, thanks ;) I’ll probably be changing these buttons anyway the up and down arrows are awful. I’ll need to make everything look a bit nicer and more consistent, but I usually take care of that kind of stuff at work when I’ve got some free time at the computer ;D
