So, what is a Coot?

The American Coot is a hilariously cute little bird that hangs around with ducks. If you’ve ever seen a Coot run in real life, you’ll understand why it was inspiration for this game. Using their giant feet, they can actually run on the surface of the water! Hi everyone, I’m blackwidowink and I made this game to just get used to the platform and see what it could do. I spent way more time on this game then I originally planned, but learned a lot along the way. I’m really happy with the way the art direction turned out and had way more fun putting in little details like butterflies, fireflies and the night and day system than struggling with the power up system. Hopefully, there’s some fun to be had with my little game and if anyone has any feedback, please don’t hesitate to let me know!
