Hello Team, I have a complaint about the 🥉 Community Favorite (most upvoted) category. Something strange went on on with this upitmemecontest. On the 27th of May, there seems to have been an orchestrated action by unknown actors to downvote most or all the entries. This was not the first time something like this has happened in this competition. Something like this also happened around the end of the submission period. The first time my game Meme Smasher (/up/MemeSmasher) was downvoted from 18 to literally zero (some even had theirs downvoted to negative numbers). Again on the last day, almost all leading contestants were brutally downvoted to 0 (I went from 14 upvotes to 0 within the space of an hour and again and again the downvotes kept coming and even though I got new upvotes from promotion, my total votes are reducing and now stand at -1 (no notifications for downvotes). I spent so much time, money and effort to promote my entry Meme Smasher (/up/MemeSmasher) and no doubt other participants put in much effort to promote their games so it will be mighty unfair that some malicious actor has orchestrated such massive wave of downvotes. In my opinion, I suggest that all downvotes should be reverted back to upvotes and the final total upvotes used for the 🥉 Community Favorite (most upvoted) category. This is the closest to being as fair as possible to those of us who put in so much effort but got maliciously downvoted.

Thank you @hitokiri ! We are aware of the issues with downvotes, and we counted only the total amount of upvotes that games received. We ignored downvotes altogether! We are working on changes to prevent this in the future.

Honestly, reading this announcement while I still have to sit at work for another 2 hours is dangerous it’s really hard to pretend to be a serious employee after news like this xD Thank you so much for appreciating my game! ;)
