I think you could add this gameplay to game Beat Fisher and just swap out the graphics to make it fit, since you already have the whole base for it you’d only need to add it as a new mode, of course editing the graphics appropriately so they match the game’s world. But of course, I respect your decision. By the way, the music is really cool! One thing I could point out (which I also struggled with in my game) is that when someone plays on a phone, they use their thumb about 90% of the time( my opinion ), so pressing two notes at once can be tricky for some players. I never found a good solution for that myself, so I just added some spacing between the notes but that’s coming from someone who doesn’t even play mobile games, so I might be totally wrong ;D Anyway, I really like the idea with that moving line acting as the hit zone. I’m waiting for the new update!
Hey, thanks for the feedback Silas! I just see both games as separate entities at this point. Maybe I should have tried harder to fit the rhythm element into Beat Fisher, it just never felt right to me. And you’re right, players use their thumbs, that’s why I designed the game with dual zones where you can tap anywhere. It’s specifically for thumbs, you don’t have to tap the notes. I tried to emphasize that in the “How to Play” and my Upit post, but maybe that needs to be more front and center. I’ll leave Beat Fisher alone for now, but I won’t abandon it!
Nah, it’s my bad I admit it, I rarely check the “how to play” section ;D I played it on PC and just looked at the general idea. I know how much work goes into this kind of thing, but if the notes exploded with some kind of ‘supernova’ (which actually seems to fit the theme of your game), it would look amazing visually. I also know how much work that would take, so I’m really curious how you’ll develop it further. The gameplay itself seems to open up a lot of room for cool visual effects for the player. Good luck! :D
I totally agree! The effects side of things needs polishing for sure. On the to do board.
